Woven throughout experiences both “good” and “bad” are lessons waiting to be discovered. Suspending our judgment, if even just for a moment, shines a light on unhealthy thought patterns. When we see these patterns objectively, we are empowered to make choices that better align with our highest intentions. Journaling provides a safe space to illuminate those unhealthy patterns so we can take life to the next level.

Today while journaling, release any judgment you may be experiencing; slip into the substratum from which the words arise; consider the chain of events that made it possible for you to be here writing. That’s it!

    This week’s journal prompt is:

Week 29: “In the stillness of the dawn, . . .”

In the stillness of the dawn, I heard a voice whispering to me of the many possibilities for the day. My eyes widened and my heart thrilled at the variety of trails available to for me to explore. But how to choose? Each trail has their intrigue, but ultimately one wins out. I grab my notebook and pen and begin writing voraciously so that I might capture as much of the juicy details as I can.

And then, as usual, the rising sun sharpens the focus on the things of this world. Inspiration gives way to duty as I remember the children asleep in the next room who depend upon me for food and clothing. A gentle sigh, a smile, and a bow lead the way as I dress and head off to work: ever grateful for the stillness of the dawn.
